Basic Science Course: Epithelial ion transport in the GI tract

July 4-6, 2019
Pécs, Hungary

This course is an educational opportunity for young PhDs and basic science oriented MDs in the field of gastroenterology across Europe and combines state-of-the-art lectures with hands-on training in the laboratory. This course is focused on epithelial ion transport. Epithelial ion transports play a fundamental role in the maintenance and integrity of the GI tract. They provide correct environment for digestive processes, have a protective function, and are also involved in the homeostasis of body fluids. Importantly, derangement of epithelial secretory processes underlie a number of diseases, including hyperacidity, cystic fibrosis and secretory diarrhoeas. In this course we will provide information which is crucial to accelerate transfer of findings from the laboratory to clinical application in this field. Enhance your professional network through close academic and social interactions with highly regarded faculty and peers from diverse backgrounds.

Application is closed.

Applicants will be informed about the status of their application by end of April 2019.
