EBM Course 2018
October 20-21, 2018
UEG Week 2018, Vienna, Austria
Having become an inherent aspect of UEG’s ongoing educational programme, the 9th UEG Evidence Based Medicine Course took place on Saturday and Sunday during our 26th UEG Week in Vienna, Austria. The educational goal of intensifying the flow of knowledge from academic research to clinical practice was achieved and was well received by participants. UEG awarded attendees from across Europe and the globe a total of 11 CME credits upon completion of the event.
Combining interdisciplinary clinical cases with questions of diagnosis and therapy, the course programme tackled the range of questions that occur when searching for information that allows one to base clinical practice on scientific evidence. Fourty-one clinicians of all ages and all career levels gained an insightful overview of search strategies to best navigate information sources.
During this highly interactive course, short faculty lectures alternated with inclusive discussions and collaborative work in small breakout groups. Attendees were encouraged to question, discuss and comment on all presented topics. Guided by faculty, participants had the opportunity to immediately utilize their new skills and receive supportive feedback.
Network & Connect
On Saturday evening, participants and faculty attended a combined dinner. This provided the opportunity to connect, socialise, exchange ideas, and further expand professional networks.
UEG extends a special thank you to the course directors and faculty for their continued success in keeping the course a current and engaging event.
