Summer School 2017
June 8-11, 2017
Hotel International, Prague, Czech Republic
This year's Summer School lived up to its name. 160 gastroenterology trainees from 28 countries enjoyed an intense weekend of lectures, hands-on training as well as the start of the summer season, which facilitated networking. Many thanks to the course managers Radu Tutuian, Jean-Francois Dufour and Tomica Milosavljevic for developing an excellent scientific programme.
The programme kicked off Thursday evening with two lectures "How to perform in a gastroenterology team" and "Sonography: Key examination for gastroenterologists and hepatologists". Morning sessions on the following days included case-based presentations treating major fields of gastroenterology, like reflux disease, IBD/small bowel, colon polyps, viral hepatitis and pancreatitis. The course closed with “The most relevant clinical publications”.
As each year, the parallel skills sessions in the afternoon added to the interactive and hands-on spirit of the Summer School and were much appreciated by all course attendees.
