Summer School 2018
May 24-27, 2018
Hotel International, Prague, Czech Republic
This year's Summer School classroom course far exceed its strong reputation. 158 gastroenterology trainees from 29 countries enjoyed an intense weekend of lectures, hands-on training and positive networking. Many thanks to the course directors Radu Tutuian, Dan Dumitrascu, Tomica Milosavljevic, and Roberto Penagini for developing an excellent scientific programme.
The programme kicked off Thursday evening with two lectures "The case of the 34-year-old H. pylori" and "Psychosomatic aspects in gastrointestinal disorders". Case-based morning sessions on the following days included case-based presentations on treating major fields of gastroenterology, like reflux disease, IBD/small bowel, colon polyps, viral hepatitis and pancreatitis. The course closed with both a “Neuroendocrine tumors” lecture and a joint-lecture on “Important publications with an impact on clinical work”. As is the case each year, the parallel skills sessions in the afternoon added to the interactive and hands-on spirit of the Summer School and were much appreciated by all course attendees.
