Horizon 2020 Application Support

We support your pan-European consortium forming initiatives in the exploratory phase of applications to Horizon 2020 funding. Via simple, competitive grants

Our mission is to facilitate research in digestive health. Applying for EU research funding is a time-consuming and costly process. UEG is here to assist your application process.

We invest up to max. € 10,000 per consortium, to provide you with:

  • excellent meeting facilities at the House of European Gastroenterology in Vienna or at UEG Week
  • catering and other logistical meeting support onsite
  • reimbursement of costs for accommodation & travel (economy airfare) related to your meeting(s)
  • advice from our large community of top leading experts in digestive health, relevant to your research topic.

Target Group

Individuals, engaged with Pan-European consortium forming initiatives in the exploratory (pre-stage-I) phase of applications to Horizon 2020 funding calls programme, which are in the very broadest sense within the remit of digestive health.


Documents and timelines for your submission:

We require one A4 page, in English, sent to Mathilde Ollivier by email.

  • with half a page of consortium and project description
  • other half of the page to contain names of co-applicants & their affiliations & contact details (phone, e-mail),
    please add title & number of the call you are responding to plus the title of your consortium
  • CV of Principal Investigator (PI)
  • Applications are accepted and considered on a rolling basis.

Your application will be reviewed from our experts on the UEG Research Committee.

Your responsibilities towards UEG

  • Acknowledgement of UEG support in your application to Horizon 2020.
  • You and your team join the UEG Network of Researchers, a platform for networking and exchange .
  • you submit a brief report on the outcome of the project in writing to UEG, within 6 months after UEG grant award, or 3 months after EU decision, whichever is earlier.
  • Project outcome will be made available for dissemination through UEG communications and publications in coordination with the organiser (e.g. UEG Journal, UEG Week related publications, website, etc.).
